Hughesy Posted 19October, 2014 Report Share Posted 19October, 2014 gday gents, some advice please topped up oil yesterday in the 964, level was spot on. drove to lunch at cottage point in sydney. now some of you may know this area, some great twisty bits etc. car went like a dream. parked for lunch and on return there was a large pool of oil rear drivers side. had a good look and couldnt see a thing or place where the damn oil had come from. the only thing i can think of was that i was parked on the steep incline , rear end lower, i reckon the road is at about a 30 degree incline. car performed beautifully on way home. topped up again with about 500mls. all was good no more leaks after a further half hour run and no leaks this morning. any suggestions??? hugh Posted 19October, 2014 Report Share Posted 19October, 2014 How long did you run the car for before you checked the initial level? Was it up to temperature?

hugh Posted 19October, 2014 Report Share Posted 19October, 2014 That was all I was thinking, especially if it has been dry prior - make sure you check the on level ground too!

Pauly Posted 19October, 2014 Report Share Posted 19October, 2014 Check your engine for signs of the oil leak. OR someone played a nasty prank.
JV911 Posted 19October, 2014 Report Share Posted 19October, 2014 parked on the steep incline Had this happen to a mate's SC once. I'm thinking it was the oil return tubes but I'll confirm
JV911 Posted 20October, 2014 Report Share Posted 20October, 2014 confirmed - oil return tube seals when the car was parked on a slope, then oil level was higher than the return tube so it leaked...a lot
