LeeM Posted 22November, 2014 Report Share Posted 22November, 2014 Just turned over to Foxsports 5, and there's the new Formula E racing on. It sounds like the Scalextric championships! When they do pit stops, they change cars! Sorry, but thats hilarious
tk111 Posted 24November, 2014 Report Share Posted 24November, 2014 I read about this, there are some big names associated with it. I wonder if it will work for e cars the way f1 has worked for road cars,? Being a r&d sandpit for new real world technologies that eventually end up in our cars in one form or another. Tit Posted 24November, 2014 Report Share Posted 24November, 2014 Isn't that the whole point? Development and marketing? I read about this, there are some big names associated with it. Coastr Posted 24November, 2014 Report Share Posted 24November, 2014 Racing series are mainly built as money making machines these days. The outlook for any new single seater category is decidedly bleak. If Mr E is behind Formula E, then it's probably a good chance. If he doesn't like it...well. The good thing is that they are running in inner-city locations - spectator wise. Racing and experience wise - it might not be so great. Time will tell whether it's another A1GP or a success in it's own right.
Airhead Posted 25November, 2014 Report Share Posted 25November, 2014 I've gotta drive to Sydney next week. Just rang the Mitsubishi dealer and ordered 3 cars.
Coastr Posted 25November, 2014 Report Share Posted 25November, 2014 You know, when they priced that at $80k or so, I just couldn't understand why the punters didn't flock to Mitsubishi dealerships. Why would you prefer something like a HSV over that? /sarc
