Simonk Posted 18January, 2015 Report Share Posted 18January, 2015 Last night I raced in the Historic Spa 6 hour (3 hour) organised by AVM. 33 drivers from around the world (mainly Australia but included US, NZ, Russia and Morocco) competed in 4 classes. I raced the 1966 911S in Class 3 with 9 others in the class. Race started well after qualifying 23rd. I dodged some carnage on the opening lap and settled into a rythmn. Until I got cleaned up on lap 8 by a less than skilful driver and had to limp to the pits and get the car fixed up. It took the crew 4 minutes to repair the car and I was in last place and generally pissed off. I soldiered on though and drove flawlessly for the rest of the race. One by one cars stacked, blew motors (funniest hearing someone say “”ergh, there’s a car on fire at Eau Rouge”). Others went off and trapped themselves in the sand which took ages to get out of. By the time the 3 hours clicked over, I’d made my way up to 14th overall and 4th in Class. Bloody awesome event!!! I highly recommend any of you PC racers to keep an eye out for this event next year.
