Mike D'Silva Posted 22November, 2015 Report Share Posted 22November, 2015 I'm looking for a place I can drop my calipers off, to have the pistons blown out, and everything cleaned up.. I have the seal kits etc... Any Brisbane places recommend anywhere?I did one today, but hated doing it.. stuck pistons, hard to remove... this is one of those jobs, I'd rather pay someone to do... CheersMike

LeeM Posted 22November, 2015 Report Share Posted 22November, 2015 Leave it to the experts Mike. Been there, done that, palmed them off. I had mega problems when bleeding them up after they were rebuilt too, as the new seals can cause a problem ( thanks to Shady here for the advice on that one)
Mike D'Silva Posted 23November, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 23November, 2015 well, aren't I a goose.one of my pistons was stuck solid. Even leaving it connected to the car, and removing the pads, it would not budge with the brake pedal pressure.Resorted to violence to get it out!I figured I would just buy a new one.. turns out, this morning, I find out you cannot buy them! So... anyone got a spare piston for 74 911 they are willing to part with in exchange for $$$??

911oclock Posted 23November, 2015 Report Share Posted 23November, 2015 Hey Mike,The old grease gun trick works well to dislodge stuck pistons, just unscrew the coupler and the threaded hose winds straight into the bleed nipple hole.
Mike D'Silva Posted 23November, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 23November, 2015 thanks... i dont own a grease gun.. I also noticed these bleed nipples have only a 7mm thread. Does this seem small?
911oclock Posted 24November, 2015 Report Share Posted 24November, 2015 I'm pretty sure 7mm is standard.I,ve got a grease gun if you want to have a crack at it….
