Fishcop Posted 19June, 2018 Report Share Posted 19June, 2018 Did the 986 series get PASM as an option, or was it a 987 debut?
JWM Posted 19June, 2018 Report Share Posted 19June, 2018 I’ve always wondered if the S in PASM is for Suspension or Stability...? I’ve seen it used both ways. Anyway, if you mean Stability, I know I’ve seen that as an option 986s but really only a handful.
Daly87 Posted 19June, 2018 Report Share Posted 19June, 2018 I thought the 986 could be optioned with PSM which is different. PSM is traction control - so you don’t skid out of control. PASM controls the suspension for a more stable smoother ride? This was only an option in the
nytelfer Posted 19June, 2018 Report Share Posted 19June, 2018 PASM did not appear until the 987 series albeit it was an expensive option.

Troubleshooter Posted 19June, 2018 Report Share Posted 19June, 2018 PSM - Porsche Stability Management ie traction control when activated PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management ie stiffens and lowers etc suspension when activated .... 987/997 onwards - and yes expensive

I found two interesting quick (basic) reads on both each here btw: https://www.total911.com/technology-explained-porsche-stability-management/ https://www.total911.com/porsche-active-suspension-management-explained/ 14 hours ago, Daly87 said: PASM controls the suspension for a more stable smoother ride?
