911 Posted 29April, 2021 Report Share Posted 29April, 2021 Hi guys, Just after a recommendation for an indoor car cover. I've heard of the autotechnica ones being really good. Do they vary in models for whale tales and ones without? Car is an 1988 model with a whale tale. If anyone could recommend, or give me a model number, that would be great. 3legs Posted 29April, 2021 Report Share Posted 29April, 2021 I use the Autotechnica ones and I reckon they are great value. I have one on my 928 and before that it was on my 930. Whale tail was not an issue. tomo
Diamond911 Posted 29April, 2021 Report Share Posted 29April, 2021 +1 for the Autotechnica covers. I have one on my 87 Carrera and one on my 88 928S4 in the garage. Fits the Carrera whale tale no problems. Sorry, not sure of sizes.

Diamond911 Posted 29April, 2021 Report Share Posted 29April, 2021 After a quick search, I'm pretty sure my '87 Carrera has the Medium 2/192R up to 4.5m, and the '88 928 has the 2/196 to 4.9m.
WB997.2GTS Posted 29April, 2021 Report Share Posted 29April, 2021 I have a Covercraft indoor cover that is custom made for each specific car/ model and fits like a condom. They were made under license in Seven Hills, Sydney but are now imported from the US by the same supplier. Google Car Accessory World. Dalai Posted 29April, 2021 Report Share Posted 29April, 2021 I also have a Covercraft fitted cover. They offer quite a large number of variations for each model year - I have the 2 mirror pockets with whale tail which is a perfect fit. Mine is the Noah material which appears superseded. Pity they are not made here anymore as was planning on buying a few more covers from them.
autojack Posted 29April, 2021 Report Share Posted 29April, 2021 I have a Coverking custom cover that I bought from Pelican Parts when I lived in the US. Fits my 3.2 perfectly, as it's cut for that car. They have one that will fit cars with the tail as well.
IXLR8 Posted 30April, 2021 Report Share Posted 30April, 2021 I have the following Coverking car covers: Coverking Satin Stretch Indoor Custom Car Cover on the 993. Coverking Autobody Armor Custom Car Cover on the 991. It is an indoor/outdoor cover. Both are a custom fit with minimal seams, and both have an ultra soft inner lining. Quality is tops. I would probably go for the Autobody Armor Custom Car Cover instead of the Satin Stretch Indoor Custom Car Cover. In any case, no complaints.
