Anyone know anything.

Recommended Posts

We are seeing some big numbers being asked for cars now.

The 90k 928 GTS.

The 97k 993 Carrera 4.

I would understand if this was a 1975-1977 930 but.............

Its a nice car. Is it that nice? I would have to assume that it may have a RUF Kit on it.

I know where I can buy an 1985 Maroon RUF 930. Its $50k. and in good condition with FSH.

Its the 20000km thing that makes it worth good money.

$120k, I dont think that's far off.

If it was a 78/79, no probs.

Still, you would not get that many 930s with low Ks like that.

I think its only the gen RUFs worth anything.

The rest are seen as just another moded 930.

That 85 sounds like a good cheap fast car.

Hell, you pay that for a nice 3.2.  ;)

Yes the low K's does add a premium, in this case I'd say 15-20% but it is still over market on other similar models.

The Maroon RUF has 150k km's on it so thats why its cheap, the guy had it for sale for over 6 mths with no bites at 55k. He's a client of mine and I took it for a drive. Its a great car and at 50-53k would be a steal. He has decided to keep it for a while though.......

This silver one looks marvellous and perfect for a collector. I will be keen to learn of its eventual sale price.

You make a fine point, Sir.

That car without the crazy low Ks would still be worth $90k.

So add the premium, and $105k/ $110k should be close.

I would like a few more details.

And yes, I love the silver.

Great collector.

Not something you would want to run up the Ks on.

Well a customer gave me a lotto ticket yesterday for tonight's draw, so maybe this and a GT2 or GT3 would complete my collection :)

That car looks mint and not cheap but how often could you find one in that condition with those K's

Never.

How much will this be worth in say 5 years in a good economy with 30K on the clock?

Good point, TMan.

I think if you gave it 10 of 15 years it may look good.

Its a collector, so someone will find out.

The thing with cars as an investment is, even the bank will give you 4%.

Most Porsches that will give you that over a long time, you can't drive.

I'll get, say 5% at the bank.

Take out tax and I'm biting at 3% net. Put my money into a 930 like this and do say....2,000km a year to keep me happy and it starts to make sense!

not really, rego, insurance, servicing, the fact that the 930 is not a liquid asset etc etc
