Apogee Posted 4February, 2013 Report Share Posted 4February, 2013 Are wiper sets purchased from the US compatible with our cars? They are like half the price of sets being sold here even with shipping.
wasserkuhl Posted 4February, 2013 Report Share Posted 4February, 2013 depends on the car. Post your car detail and I can tell you what will and wont fit. Most 911's will work as they are he same just rest on the other side.
Harvs11 Posted 4February, 2013 Report Share Posted 4February, 2013 There's good "how to" on pelican.http://www.pelicanparts.com//techarticles/911_wiper_reversal_files/911_wiper_reversal.htm this is only for air cooled 911's. I should've read where this was posted.

Coastr Posted 5February, 2013 Report Share Posted 5February, 2013 My E39 BMW has 'LHD' wipers, despite being factory RHD- the wipers wipe from R-L. Because they use an off-centre pattern that covers most of the screen, BMW decided to just keep the one configuration for all cars. The upshot is you can buy the parts from Pelican cheaply and easily. It's not relevant to the thread but I just thought I'd throw that little factoid in. Russ Posted 5February, 2013 Report Share Posted 5February, 2013 is it the whole entire arm you're changing? or just the rubber and blade?
Apogee Posted 6February, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 6February, 2013 Just the rubber and blade. But according to one Ebay seller, the part no.s for RHD and LHD is the same. So it should be ok.

Russ Posted 6February, 2013 Report Share Posted 6February, 2013 that's probably your issue. have you tried any of the porsche repairers in your area? or any of the parts sellers on here?
JustJames Posted 7February, 2013 Report Share Posted 7February, 2013 The Bosch wiper set is the same in LHD and RHD markets. You will need to flip over the doohickey (technical term) that connects the blade to the arm. Also, the Bosch blade does not locate in the arm quite as positively as the original, but that's unlikely to be a problem. James
