MARTY Posted 23September, 2022 Report Share Posted 23September, 2022 Just looking for a definite set of widths and offsets for a narrow body 996.1 I’m looking at some new 18 inch wheels at the moment and I just want to make sure I’m looking at the right combinations
Morpheus Posted 28September, 2022 Report Share Posted 28September, 2022 This link might be helpful: Wassergekuhlt guide to Porsche 996 Wheels I tried to find an earlier source I had used for the same question but so far no dice..

AndrewM Posted 17May, 2023 Report Share Posted 17May, 2023 @MARTY - What did you end up deciding on? Just had a track day at Luddenham Raceway and feeling the urge to upgrade! My 996.1 is currently on 17s with 205 front and 255 rears, and based on the day, would like a little more traction. The 18" wheels in the 996.1 handbook suggest Front: 225/40r18 on 7.5x18et50 and 265/35r18 on 10x18et65. The 996.2s have 225/40r18 s on 8x18 and 285/30r18s on 10x18. Is there a difference in the suspension between the .1 and .2 996s? As for tyres, am thinking of PS4Ss or possibly Yokohama AD09. The PS4Ss looks to be still available in 265/35, but not in 285/30... Thoughts?
NAC911 Posted 17May, 2023 Report Share Posted 17May, 2023 My 996.2 runs 18 x 8.5 front with 235/40 PS2 and 18 x 11 rear with 295/30 PS2 and they fit snug but no rubbing. My rear guards have had a minor lip roll at the top. A friend with a 996.1 was exactly the same rim/tyre width setup. So they do fit. tomo
