Wobbly Posted 22November, 2022 Report Share Posted 22November, 2022 Long shot, but if anyone is going to custom / race headers and has some good condition original heat exchangers or SSIs for sale let me know. Mine are flogged out (more rust than metal!) so looking for something as otherwise will be forking out for some new SSIs 😭
Billecartz Posted 27November, 2022 Report Share Posted 27November, 2022 Hi Wobbly, Yes I have a set and in very condition, also std exhaust and many other parts of a 75. Pics attached. .... David

Wobbly Posted 30November, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 30November, 2022 Hi David - thanks for the reply. I should have said I'm after a set for a 2-in muffler, the older pre-cat style headers. Thanks though!
Billecartz Posted 30November, 2022 Report Share Posted 30November, 2022 I am not familiar with exactly what 2 into 1 is, these additional pieces come with them which looks what you maybe after.
Wobbly Posted 1December, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 1December, 2022 Those would be the cross-over pipe and pre-muffler which get routed into a single inlet (1-in) for the muffler, as shown in the following diagram. That was the standard exhaust configuration from 75 onward I believe. I'm after the earlier design which has no pre-muffler and instead has the headers terminate in rear facing flanges which bolt up to the muffer directly (in a 2-in configuration). This was last used in 74.
Billecartz Posted 1December, 2022 Report Share Posted 1December, 2022 ok thanks for the explanation, I sold my 75 about 12 months ago and bought a 997 S Manual. What do you have?
Wobbly Posted 1December, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 1December, 2022 1974 base model 911. Had a tragic wide body flat nose conversion in the late 80's. Now being put back nearer to standard, but still wide bodied with steel guards (welded rear guards, 930 front guards). Rebuilt 2.7 motor - turbo oil pump, JE pistons, 40mm webers. Still a work in progress, hopefully getting closer to turning over in anger soon... P-Kay, Oldskl60 and Yeatesy

Yeatesy Posted 19March, 2023 Report Share Posted 19March, 2023 @Wobbly I bought these and haven’t picked them up yet but after looking at your diagram I don’t think they will fit my car.
Wobbly Posted 22March, 2023 Author Report Share Posted 22March, 2023 Still looking. @Yeatesy if you have a single inlet muffler then these won’t fit it, no. But you can swap out the muffler if you want. where did you get them from?

Wobbly Posted 23March, 2023 Author Report Share Posted 23March, 2023 Are the muffler flanges in good condition? They’re not shown in the pics and that’s where my old ones have rusted out the worst. in any case, you’ll need to decide if you want to move them on or look for a dual inlet muffler to fit. If you do want to move them on and they’re in good nick then I’d be interested. But if you want to look for a dual inlet muffler then that’s a good solution as well. Yeatesy Posted 23March, 2023 Report Share Posted 23March, 2023 They are cleaner than the ones on my car so I jumped on them without looking properly 🤦♂️ and I don’t want to change my muffler so I’ll be listing them when I get them.
