944 transaxle rebuild service

Hi, Does any know any shops in Australia (Sydney preferred) who can rebuild a 944S2 transaxle,

I've spoken to Bruce at Buchanans, he couldn't give me an idea of how much it will cost, I'd love to get him to do it and I'm sure it will be first rate, but I don't have a blank cheque book.

I will remove the transmission and can  ship interstate

Any recommendations appreciated

Try Autowerks on the Central Coast.

Simon there has recently rebuilt 3 x 924 Turbo gearboxes (including mine) and whilst I realise they are not the same as a 944, they are at least in the ballpark.

+1 for Autowerks. I was one of the 3 x 924 Turbos that had a gearbox rebuild.

Hi Steve,

Sorry we can't give you a quote on this one as we have no idea what is wrong with it or associated wear/ damage we see once its opened up. I can tell you though we would be the cheapest at these rebuilds as I do on average about 10 per year. Almost all the parts we keep in stock.
