My little itzy bitzy plastic bits holding the headlamp lens in place, is no more.

My headlight lens is held in by 3 screws which go through a plastic bit to hold the lens in place. One plastic bit has disintegrated, so the lens flops about as its only restrained by 2 screws and their plastic bits.
 

Checking the Porsche katalogue  the plastic bits are shown in the “part 1A retaining frame” assembly, but does not have an individual part number for the 3 plastic bits. Has anyone come across this before? Is it a common VW part?

Or is there a simple fix eliminating the plastic bits altogether and use a nut, as a lock nut, on the backside of where the plastic bit would have been. This would lock the headlight lens & assembly in place?

Hey Brian.  My little itzy bitzy bits are metal on my 924.  You could potentially pick up the brackets from someone wrecking a real Porsche and never have to deal with this again.

use some regular hex or even wing nuts, before and after the bracket. Snug them up tight and maybe some Loctite when you have them adjusted and they should be okay.

A nutsert of the appropriate size could work. Just be sure to use aluminium as they are softer.
