_Tony Posted 12October, 2013 Report Share Posted 12October, 2013 Ive been contemplating refinishing my fuchs rsr style. Just a thought at this stage, but i do love the look. Any recommendations around melbourne to get this sort of finish? Im not looking to replicate the process of the original finish, but just looking to get a finish in the style of the rsr wheel. Ive read people having them painted to good effect Here is one example
hugh Posted 12October, 2013 Report Share Posted 12October, 2013 Nice. I did hunt around locally but only found people who would do it, not people who specialise in it. It seemed at the time to hard and expensive so I ended up going OS to get my last set finished. It may be worth getting in touch with a place like the Healey Factory or even Rob at RSR? i'll try and dig out some contacts in the meantime. Vas Posted 12October, 2013 Report Share Posted 12October, 2013 Easy, talk to Matt at http://www.wheelsolutions.com.au/. He is a Porsche guy and will give you a few options. Painting will be the cheaper option, its up to you.
_Tony Posted 12October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 12October, 2013 Hugh, thanks. If you can pass on some contacts that would be great. Vas, actually good to know wheel solutions can do something like this. I had some gutter rash from the previous owner fixed by them on my rear Fuchs and they did a good job trying to blend in with the anodized finish. Will give them a call
_Tony Posted 13October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 13October, 2013 tried my hand at a mockup on my car to see what it might look like. Was thinking also about a wingless deck lid before after

_Tony Posted 13October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 13October, 2013 i prefer how it is, just needs to be slammed! car is looking great Thanks, I am planning on getting it lowered.. I'm in the process of doing a website for my mechanic in exchange for some work on the car.. so was thinking i can get him to do the lowering
Harvs11 Posted 14October, 2013 Report Share Posted 14October, 2013 i prefer how it is, just needs to be slammed! car is looking great +1 I think the lighter wheels are a bit of overkill. The black centres are a nice balance for the white body. ps. the new script looks great
Uncle Posted 14October, 2013 Report Share Posted 14October, 2013 +1 on what Harv's said. It's your car so do what makes you happy though.
_Tony Posted 14October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 14October, 2013 My other concern would be refinishing over the anodized outer.. the wheels arent perfect, but in pretty good condition.. so as mentioned, just a thought at this stage.. I took the mockup rims from the pic below.. which i think looks great on the car.. I do think it looks better with the green compared to white though
J.J. Posted 14October, 2013 Report Share Posted 14October, 2013 RSR finish looks better on small bumper cars IMO
