Guest hepkat63 Posted 19December, 2013 Report Share Posted 19December, 2013 great link - thanks for sharing that. I wonder what the go is with the plastic covering towards the end though?
mockney999 Posted 20December, 2013 Report Share Posted 20December, 2013 Very interesting read, does that mean that the car had never been driven as it was still wrapped in the original protective film... a sepcial car for sure.
Jimmy Posted 20December, 2013 Report Share Posted 20December, 2013 great link - thanks for sharing that. I wonder what the go is with the plastic covering towards the end though? Clear wrap to protect the finish from scratches and stone chips. Wow what a transformation.
Caledonian Posted 20December, 2013 Report Share Posted 20December, 2013 The plastic covering is a clear protective film, its been around for some time now and usually put over areas iron to stone chips (leading edges etc. Most modern cars do have sections of it around the rear dog legs and top of sill panels etc. areas that tend to get knocked when your getting in and out of the car. I have seen the kits around for motorcycles (sports bikes) and when applied properly it's almost invisible. I suppose with a car like the 959 its the equivalent of wrapping in in cotton wool:)

edgy Posted 20December, 2013 Report Share Posted 20December, 2013 That is awesome... I wonder about why the car was in storage for so long? it is really cool to see a car preserved like that after so many years!
