tazzieman Posted 8April, 2014 Report Share Posted 8April, 2014 Hmmm, which part of PFA to post this on to get the most views and offend the most purists? http://flussigmagazine.com/1/post/2014/02/rinspeed-porsche-r39.html Yes it's 80s ugly , but no more so than lots of Porsches out there , in my opinion and probably yours It's always interesting to see how others view the Stuttgart offering as just a "base for development". Not just to be content with what men (& women , sorry fraufrau) in suits think we should like.
webrest Posted 8April, 2014 Report Share Posted 8April, 2014 Time has not been kind to them but if it is any consolation they looked crap in the day too. I've said it before but I repeat, Germans should never try funky, stick to the boring practicals. They can't get it right, leave the ostentation and flair to the Italians and concentrate on reliable. Heck knows they need to, given some of their recent engineering feats. Oh! I do realize that Rinnspeed is Swiss but you can guarantee that it is in the German part. JustJames Posted 9April, 2014 Report Share Posted 9April, 2014 For this: "the R39 would prove to be faster than the factory's 930 because it was about 400kg lighter" I'm prepared to forgive the erm, challenging looks.Personality goes a long way!(Salty language warning applies)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJCzrSENHnQ
