sleazius Posted 30July, 2014 Report Share Posted 30July, 2014 What is the general opinion on APR tunes for 996/997 cars? I personally just like the idea of the valet program. http://www.goapr.com.au/products/ecu_upgrade_997carreras.html Other upgrades to the engine need to be done at the same time? _Tony Posted 30July, 2014 Report Share Posted 30July, 2014 not sure about porsches, but had an apr update done for a golf gti.. probably best bang for buck you can get. Was a very noticeable gain in performance. the valet program was good and easy to set
Pauly Posted 30July, 2014 Report Share Posted 30July, 2014 APR have been doing their thing for a while now. Although it's hard to notice a 5-10 hp gain but you'll notice slightly better response at lower rpm

Hounddub Posted 14August, 2014 Report Share Posted 14August, 2014 Guys. Ive previously done this type of thing to a Renaultsport Megane I had and was really disappointed. If it's not a bespoke tune for your car and backed with some test data from a data logger then really all they are doing is advancing the ignition timing and pouring a load more fuel in. I ended up having a lot of issues with injectors so although I had lots of extra go from wound up boost, it really did a lot more damage in the long run. Not for me sorry. I kind of guide myself by a simple matra now...." If I want a faster 911... I'll get a faster variant."
teknostar Posted 5November, 2014 Report Share Posted 5November, 2014 Waste of time IMO on anything N/A - not worth the hassle for a 5-10hp gain Boosted is a different story altogether
