Airhead Posted 6November, 2014 Report Share Posted 6November, 2014 Sandown Historics on this weekend. 20+ F5000 cars should be a ground shaker. Lots of Porsches in the group S field and usually great racing. Drop and and say hello at the TRacing Red Tent.

Simonk Posted 8November, 2014 Report Share Posted 8November, 2014 I'm at the north end on the grass. I've got the 3.2 with me if anyone is on the lookout. I've never even heard of F5000 but whoaw what a sound!!!
Airhead Posted 10November, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 10November, 2014 Crap weekend. SWLTDF had electrical issues and fuel issues. Not at the same time though. So she only got 2 races out of 6 completed for the weekend. Think she's looking for a better mechanic. My adventure ended on lap 4 of race 1 when the gearbox exploded. f**##*t Those F5000 are absolutely fantastic. Back in the day the grids of 25 - 30 cars at Sandown and PI were full of talent and very brave guys. Also some great races at Winton on the short track ( including one James Hunt one meeting who blew the locals off the track). Awsome to watch.
