WTB 996 GT2

I understand that this is probably a ridiculous WTB, given the small number of these cars produced and acknowledging the thread that details how many Australian cars survive.

However, I have a friend with his finances in order who is a genuine buyer.

So I am posting here, on his behalf, thanks.

I don't recall seeing any for some time before I bought mine last August. I'd been watching the market for a while to that point. Since then, I've seen three others - silver with stripes in SA that recently sold, black one that was on market same time (gone) and a few months ago, a grey track pig PCNSW (rumoured to be running 800hp, carbon doors, gutted interior etc)

Quite surprising to see 4 sell within a year given so few around so it could be a long wait.

Happy to swap mine for a 991 GT3 RS if your mate is interested.........sorry, not helping.

Lost interest in the list, without VIN it's hard to avoid double counting

SimonOz on here had a silver one, written off by an employee during a test drive. Is that the WA you mentioned above?

Off market? Good buy if it's in good shape. $105k is by far the cheapest I've seen or heard of. Others recently have been advertised at $135 - $150k and sold quickly which presumably means close to the asking price.

These were $400k cars when new, 12-13 years ago.

With various Porsche mags, EVO talking them up and Magnus Walker on the hunt, together with scarcity, i ain't selling for a while.

Wow! that is great buying.

I saw a black GT3 recently for that sort of price didn't imagine anyone letting a GT2 go for anywhere near that.

If he wants to flip for a tidy profit let me know, my friends budget is 2 X that.

I reckon it is one and the same.

I know a bloke who picked up a black manual gt2 last week, I think from memory 60kms, for $105k.

Have to verify the k's

$105K!? My old man has been thinking about a GT3 but if any other GT2s come up in that price bracket I'll be steering him that way.

I was told that a silver GT2 sold for around 85K in the last 12 months, but I never remembered seeing it advertised anywhere and don't know which state so very much a rumour.

GT2's are thin on the ground now... I gotta say, as far as good examples of 996 goes, DJMs has been the best I've seen on the market in some time!

All the best with the hunt, a few of anoraks will keep our eyes out for you!

I've seen the car and its clean. The 'collectors' it seems are not holding onto 996's. Its what I'm told anyway. I'd jump on a gt2 at that price. This gentleman now owns a silver and a black version

Agreed.........sold the 964 for a tidy profit only to watch the buyer flip it for a further $20k a few months later. No regrets but lesson learned!

9er tell your mate $210k won't cut it, 991GT3RS or nothin'
