OK, I may be pushing the boundaries here but hear me out.  Or first hear what John Bowe has to say on the topic.

Having cut our teeth (so to speak) on selling Ferrari and Lamborghini exhausts, and with our relationship with FabSpeed and AWE Tuning, we bring to you ultra high quality exhausts to suit the majority of Porsches from the Cayenne diesel to the GT2 & GT3 model 911's.

We're happy to answer any of your questions, and provide advice on what should suit your requirements.

Contact us on 1800 985 925 (Australia) or (09) 951 8244 (New Zealand), or if you prefer email, sales@bestexhaust.com.au

Shipping is always FREE.  So the price you pay is the price you pay.  Period.  (Note: New Zealand orders may be subject to import duties or taxes.)

Yes, or what you do with it.  I hear you... ;)

What's a good sounding exhaust for my standard 997 and how much will it be fitted?

depends on 997.1 or 997.2 but as a rule of thumb Tubi are designed primarily for sound and are fairly nicely priced

have s browse here in our 911 Carrera section:

Supersprint and FabSpeed are good value also, with a mixed performance and sound focus...

And why would you do that?  I guess you get what you pay for...

For ~$12,000 you could get a Supersprint full system, dyno tested for the best performance and mostly (the catback section) EEC Approved.

Here's a Porsche guys going with Supersprint over cargraphicts:

Can you modify a 997 sports exhaust to be louder at stock then even louder again on the sports button? Eg louder than oem but still have the button functionality?

 Thanks

Yes, just bypass the mufflers...  That's the easiest way for more noise...  See here:

Disregard the Muffler bypass option,  If you have a PSE exhaust, then replacing the cats is really the only way to make it louder without changing the mufflers...
