My RSR Interpretation

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys, extremely proud to share what I've been working on for the past few years.

Car started life as an '86 3.2. After dropping a few hundred kilos with the backdate, plus freshly rebuilt 915 gearbox, car is incredible in the twisties!

Regretably after 11 years of ownership, the car will soon be advertised on Carsales. Please let me know of any interest.

Enjoy!
Adam

Thanks for all the comments!

I really tried to take all the features I love from different 911's and build a kind of ultimate in my eyes. Being white, I always figured I can change the decals and red wheels at any time should me tastes change. I did have the idea to put black PORSCHE side scripts with polished Fuchs at some stage.

A few people have asked for full build info, so here it is (as far as I can remember!):

Fibreglass front fenders
Fibreglass front and rear bumpers
Fibreglass rear ducktail
Original '73 metal long hood
Sucro headlight relay kit + 90W bulbs
Flag mirror backdate (left is original, right is reproduction)
Opted for custom paint color over Grand Prix White.

AC that actually works!
Rebuilt Nippondenso A/C Compresser
Additional left rear wheelwell condenser with fan (3 condensers total now)
Uprated dual-fan A/C evaporator relocated to front trunk (no longer in passenger footwell)
Fresh air blower delete, with A/C now operated via original fresh air controls

Centre Console Delete
Fibreglass bucket seats with leather upholstery and basketweave inserts
Original '73 arm rests
Rear seat back delete
New carpets
New headlining
Momo Prototipo + custom leather horn button
MB 6.5 inch Reference Speakers (RKC-116) + Pioneer P1Y receiver
Lightweight sound deadening (CLD tiles + closed cell foam)

3.2 Carrera Motor
Rebuilt 915 Gearbox
Bilstein Sport yellow shocks
Original Fuch wheels - 16x7 (225/50/16) + 16x8 (245/50/16)
OEM exhaust

Wow, didn't think I'd get straight to business so quickly. Not sure I'm ready to part with it!

Here's what I sent to another member via PM:

The car was originally imported from Japan by my Dad with about 30,000kms on the clock (now currently 128,000kms). I'll have to ask if he still has the original import documentation, as it was a long time ago.

The car didn't come with records originally, but I have kept records for the 11 years I have owned the car. I've done all the general servicing on the car myself, utilising a Porsche specialist for things like valve adjustment, gearbox rebuild, clutch replacement, and wheel alignment.

The car has literally been bulletproof, with nothing apart from regular servicing for the last 9 years or so.

From the build sheet you will notice a number of enhancements devised by me personally and not seen in any other 911, such as the AC evaporator significantly upgraded and relocated from the passenger footwell to front trunk. I've always hated the stock solution and was always embarrassed for passengers!

In terms of condition, the interior is brand new having just been completed. The exterior was backdated by a specialty Porsche bodyshop here in Melbourne about 8 years ago. The car has been enjoyed as a weekend warrior and is definitely not a concourse garage queen. As such a few stone chips here and there as expected.

As a 911 fanatic it's an incredibly hard decision to let the car go, but is prompted by an unexpected move overseas for at least a few years. I can only hope the car goes to a good home and will be looked after as well as I have!

Any other questions feel free to reach out!
