I'm a long-time air-cooled owner. I drive a '65 356C coupe and recently bought a '76 911S Sportomatic: Long story, but the car appeared on Bring a Trailer last spring and was really close by where I was living in California. 54,000m, stored since '91, original GP white paint, rust free, rebuilt engine, and order-to-sample white full leather. Its an acquired taste, I realize.

In searching for help re: the unusual transmission I came across this site which, I believe, has a Sporto thread. I hope so, but I'll stay regardless (sorry .)

Thanks for having me!

Thanks all for the help and advice. The NOS switch cracked immediately upon installation (40-yr old plastic...) but Stoddard's has new genuine Porsche switches in stock. So, after a bit of a hiatus I worked on her this am. One hour later and she's shifting like a champ, much improved over what it was like even before she failed altogether. The original switch looks fine; IDK what the problem was. The NOS looked fine too until it split. Thanks to Stoddard we're back in business!

Best,

Chris
