High Hope Posted 18October, 2017 Report Share Posted 18October, 2017 I'm a long-time air-cooled owner. I drive a '65 356C coupe and recently bought a '76 911S Sportomatic: Long story, but the car appeared on Bring a Trailer last spring and was really close by where I was living in California. 54,000m, stored since '91, original GP white paint, rust free, rebuilt engine, and order-to-sample white full leather. Its an acquired taste, I realize. In searching for help re: the unusual transmission I came across this site which, I believe, has a Sporto thread. I hope so, but I'll stay regardless (sorry .)Some pictures:http://http://http://Thanks for having me!Chris And Edit to Add: First Post, and wrong forum. Sorry! High Hope Posted 5November, 2017 Author Report Share Posted 5November, 2017 Thanks all for the help and advice. The NOS switch cracked immediately upon installation (40-yr old plastic...) but Stoddard's has new genuine Porsche switches in stock. So, after a bit of a hiatus I worked on her this am. One hour later and she's shifting like a champ, much improved over what it was like even before she failed altogether. The original switch looks fine; IDK what the problem was. The NOS looked fine too until it split. Thanks to Stoddard we're back in business!Best,Chris
