And thanks for the info on how the cars are being treated, that certainly is a bit of comfort. With mine being an electric car sitting on a ship for 3 months I'm surprised there was enough juice for even limp mode!

Don't worry - I have an electric car too (BMW i3) and the charge holds for ages.

I'm feeling you guys! I ordered a new 42 ft yacht in March 2018 from France. It arrived early Sept 2018 but the dealer discovered the mast was damaged in shipping.

They ordered another mast from France and after waiting 3 months was due to arrive Port Kembla 5th Dec 2018 on THAT SHIP!

Now i'm waiting for the 2nd replacement mast to arrive on Morning Composer into Port Kembla around 23rd Jan 2019!

I just hope the 2nd mast isn't damaged again by unloading and loading again in Indonesia.

The funny thing is the dealer had the mast fumigated in Belgium specially for the BMSB requirements and it was loaded in Belgium with a fumigation certificate!!

It appears there is another ship that is being held in Auckland for similar treatment, before heading to Australia. I was surprised that New Zealand would allow that, but I guess it's not our problem.

That ship, and one other, has since been ordered to leave NZ waters. Another (The Triumph) was sent back to China from Aus.

Apparently it has departed Bintang. Anyone else believe this?

Not really but just a fan and a interested observer!

But like so many people desperate for info on this ship I've piggybacked onto the forum as ITS THE ONLY PLACE TO GET INFO on the MORNING COMPOSER!

Keep the info coming as we are ALL IN THE SAME BOAT (pardon the pun).

Welcome aboard

Correct, as of 1530 Melb time, still moored, 0 knotts, at Bintan

Just spoke on the phone with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean. They told me that the vessel will leave Bintan on 13 January and will reach Port Kembla on 28 January. My guess is this can still be delayed but hopefully not by too long.

Thanks for the update, so that ties in with the expected date of 20th Jan into Perth as per the Fremantle arrivals site.

Don't joke about the ship sinking, be thankful you haven't ordered a Nissan! https://automotivelogistics.media/home-page/fatal-ship-fire-leaves-nissan-vehicles-stranded

That's just terrible, no joke meant, just frustrated at delays. Lives lost is shocking and none of us want that.

That's terrible news!

My worry is when it arrives in Fremantle, if it is free of all bugs. My hope is that as all parties involved are losing a lot of money, so at least for their sake, they would fumigate the vessel properly before they leave Bintan. 13th gives them enough time to do things properly.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Ocean have updated their schedule now to reflect the new dates https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?minHt=480&htMethod=bodyLastElem&frameId=154680633479712413&url=https%3A%2F%2Fschedule.2wglobal.com%2FScheduleRWD%2F

As mentioned, let's hope there is no more slippage but the track record on this isn't great.

I read somewhere that a number of <dodgy Italian> certifiers have had their licences suspended

Otherwise we are going around the merry go round all again!!😫😪

If that happens, I am going to get off this merry go round and buy a Toyota 😀

Interesting that they had unloaded some vehicles and told them to reload them back on the ship - 83 could not be located! There are probably 83 lucky owners who might get their cars/boats a crap-load quicker than others, and be completely unaware how lucky they are.

The Thalatta carrier seems to be heading to Singapore rather than Bintan for fumigation.

Hopefully from February onwards I can stop caring about where fumigation services are carried out.....

Does anyone actually know what is undertaken during the fumigation process? I have heard it is either chemical fumigation or the cargo is heat treated (at 50 degrees). Is this correct? Any idea how our cargo is being treated?

According to the timeline I posted, the ship and its cargo underwent thermal py fogging off Perth, which proved to be ineffective. I doubt the Indonesians have a big oven to heat the cars to 50c, so that leaves either methyl bromide fumigation, or sulfuryl fluoride fumigation as the two approved options...both sound nasty.

Could not be "reloaded". They were treated at the port, after which dead stinky bugs were found.

Very quiet day today, the only change seems to be the Fremantle expected arrivals website now changing to align with the updated schedule from WWL. Now planned for docking at 3am local time on the 21st Jan. https://www3.fremantleports.com.au/vtmis/dashb.ashx?db=fmp.public&btn=ExpectedMovements

Hopefully Sunday the 13th will see that damned ship set sail from Bintan.

Let's hope so. I also just noticed the "Thalatta" docked early this morning in Singapore after about a 6 day travel from Fremantle for the same BMSB problem

Fumigation is complete, re-fueling in Singapore is due to be completed on the 13th and then it will set sail for Fremantle. Hopefully this link should display the translated page: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=id&u=https://www.batamnews.co.id/berita-43433-proses-fumigasi-selesai-3442-mobil-mewah-dibawa-ke-australia.html&prev=search

Good one, let's all hope it stays to the schedule. Seems they are trying to achieve credibility for any future business, so hopefully they 'got em all' with the fumigation. Good article thx Aus-Ipace.
