Matt's comments from about 19 minutes resonated with me.  What do you do with a car so quick?  Be eternally frustrated?

Agreed, how much power do you really need. Most bog stock P cars have more than enough power for the road. Awesome car though if you are a numbers chaser.

Harry Metcalfe recently quoted  a similar view to Matt,s on the difference between the New Turbo S and Carrera S ,he also said at the end of the day he would go the Carrera S over the Turbo S .

The Turbo S has become so fast that he just would not every drive the car to that performance level and felt that the Carrera S was more than adequate for him and we all know the collection very fast cars Harry has ..

I Still love the flagship Turbo S it is just bonkers overkill

I think we had the same conversation at Moonbi

I don't recall if you agreed with me or just thought I was a lunatic? 😄

My interest is the sensation of speed rather than actually going fast.

A GT3 would do me just fine.

Yes, a 996 or a 997 would be just right I think.

Had a drive of a 992 GTS.  Far too capable, insulated and just plain perfect to give any great sensation of speed without getting arrested in short order.

I am sure we agreed.  We talked about having to go stupid fast to get the same sensation as a 911 or 930 and 300hp and good torque was enough.

We may have been interrupted by all the talk about rotaries and Peter Brock’s “energy polariser” while trying to find shade between two old fire engines.
