Chris-p Posted 4March, 2013 Report Share Posted 4March, 2013 Now they have made the decision to go full PDK I wonder if that will make in years to come the series 2 997 GT3 with the mezger engine and manual a bit of a collectible? Whats everyone's thoughts?
Vas Posted 5March, 2013 Report Share Posted 5March, 2013 It may help, Chris. I think even 3.8s are only two years from the $150k mark. Good buying for us.
withers Posted 5March, 2013 Report Share Posted 5March, 2013 Wow that car sounds amazing... and hard not to be swept up in any car Andreas is talking about. I want to see some footage of him driving it, especially in 'donut mode'

Whats everyone's thoughts? Having never been in the market for a 5-figure car I'm not well qualified to answer....but as I alluded to further up the thread the 993 has shown us that the simpler models sell for the highest values. To me, nostalgia is one of the biggest drivers of classic car values. Just being old or unique doesn't seem to help - it needs to be old, unique, relatively rare and have nostalgia attached to it, whether that is race car, youth fantasy, or pop culture nostalgia.
