Sherpa Posted 9July, 2023 Report Share Posted 9July, 2023 My 996.2 is well overdue for a full suspension refresh after 20 years and 150k of driving. It's my only car, and I don't have the time, space or patience to tackle this project myself. It's also just a daily driver that will never see a track (so not looking for adjustable coil-overs etc). Wouldn't mind it sitting an inch lower though. Those who have had it done - did you use your usual Porsche mechanic or did you go to a suspension specialist? OEM or aftermarket? Sydney owners - can you recommend anyone local?
JWM Posted 9July, 2023 Report Share Posted 9July, 2023 You’ll be extremely happy once done. I had Autohaus do mine (specifics here) but I was in a bit of a hurry (something was broken) and didn’t do any research on alternatives … since then I have heard East Coast Suspension mentioned positively a few times. Steve996 Posted 9July, 2023 Report Share Posted 9July, 2023 Did a complete refresh on my 996.2 last year and found the combination of KONI sport shocks and H&R 30mm lower springs feels a little too soft. Height looks just right though IMO. I’ve read the eibachs are firmer but can’t speak from experience. Had a less than ideal experience with Eastcoast. 👎 Sherpa
AndrewM Posted 9July, 2023 Report Share Posted 9July, 2023 I let AutoHaus do my complete suspension, including all control arms, and engine, transmission mounts when I bought the car a couple of years ago. Super happy with the team there, however I did need to go back to get the alignment corrected. My goal at the time was to bring back the "as new" feeling as the car would have been in 2000, as such I opted for standard everything. I would imagine changing the ride hide would start to change all the geometry settings, so I could probably talk to either/ both AutoHaus and PR Tech and get their advice. There are multiple options there such as going for the M030 option suspension or other setups like for KW. This may however also involve other control arms etc. Will be interested in hearing how you get on! Sherpa

911CSR Posted 10July, 2023 Report Share Posted 10July, 2023 I have tried a few different sets on my 996.2 C4S, Bilsteins and H&R springs, AST and now Ohlins with Elephany Racing strut tops and steering arms. The Ohlins are incredible. Simon and the team at Autowerks fitted the Ohlins and AST's whilst I did teh Bilsteins. They are on the Central Coast but well worth the trip. Otherwise I hear very good things about East Coast Sherpa
Nugget Posted 26July, 2023 Report Share Posted 26July, 2023 I went for Koni Active dampers on my 996.2 C2, difference compared to stock is amazing. I don't track my car. Comfort and increased traction really surprised me, I would definitely recommend. JWM and Sherpa 1
