Today , Eastern Creek , Sydney Motorsport Park , the World Time Attack event was run over the last few days and congratulations to Barton Mawer ( driver ) and the owner Rod Pobestek who has funded this amazing Porsche 968 ( yes a last century front engine'd Porsche ) which has won before in the World Time Attack , but this time it not only won outright in the Emtron Pro Class ( highest Class ) , but it has smashed the Track Record , meaning it is officially the fastest vehicle of any type to lap the GP Circuit at a time of = 1.17.860

And a special congratulations to all the guys at PR Technology who spent years & years developing this 968 throughout many interrelations

To give a comparison , the outright Sydney Motorsport Park GP circuit Lap record was held by Nico Hulkenberg in a A1 Lola Zytek with a time of 1.19.142 set on the 4th Feb 2007 and this record was finally beaten today in this highly modified Porsche 968 road car with lots of HP and lots of aero

Another comparison is in the GT / Sports cars class "of normal racing " , the fastest Porsche GT3 at this GP circuit is held by David Wall in a Porsche GT3 Cup S with a time of 1.33.1910 set in 2009

And Yes , this highly modified Porsche 968 still has the basic 968/ 944  layout ,inline 4 cylinder engine ( turbo charged ) in the front and a Torque Tube in the middle and the transmission in the rear ( perfect balance )
