London - Sydney car humiliation

Original London to Sydney car.

Rallycrossing at Calder circa 1970's. Driven by Tony Roberts.

Oh the comedown from the London to Sydney greatness.

The indignity of it all

Is this the car now owned by Ian Henderson?

Always thought Rallycross was where old race and rally cars went to die

Personal bias I suppose.

I used to see this car quite frequently (in the '70s) in Melbourne, parked outside a petrol station in Kew near the Guide Dog Centre, looking very sad & run down.

Story was that shortly after taking off most of the bull/kangaroo bars, they actually HIT a kangaroo !!! During the actual L to S rally they never even saw a roo. Perhaps an urban myth ????
