Jimmy Posted 19February, 2014 Report Share Posted 19February, 2014 Is Porsche buckling under pressure to offer a manual in the GT3RS and yes the almighty Mezger engine. http://www.6speedonline.com/articles/next-911-gt3-rs-offer-manual-transmission/

I pretty sure they still use the Mezger in the RS, I know they still do in the cup cars.
clutch-monkey Posted 19February, 2014 Report Share Posted 19February, 2014 metzger was last generation GT3, GT3RS etc; current GT3 is the new engine, they will not bring the metzger back for the RS as it is not direct injection/pdk/emissions compatible. the next RS will share an uprated version of the new GT3 engine. race cars are a different story. Harvs11 Posted 19February, 2014 Report Share Posted 19February, 2014 So, let me get this right. The GT3 RS is NOT a homologation version of the Cup cars. Therefore the Cup cars don't have to follow the basic spec. of the GT3 RS enabling them to run the Metzger engine.

GC9911 Posted 19February, 2014 Report Share Posted 19February, 2014 IMHO metzger is dead, but hopefully not the manual. Mind you 5 fires are not great.
