webrest Posted 23April, 2014 Report Share Posted 23April, 2014 The Bolwell factory as of a couple of hours ago is well alight. Sadly this automotive institution is in real trouble. It is in Wells Rd Mordialloc just around the corner from "aPorschaprt" in Spray Avenue, Very close in fact. Dave
Chris-p Posted 23April, 2014 Report Share Posted 23April, 2014 Yes Dave I heard the fire sirens from the Fire station in Cheltenham this morning. A lot of them so knew it must have been something big. Been there for a very long time....

Guest Harold Posted 28April, 2014 Report Share Posted 28April, 2014 Excuse my ignorance but didn't they stop making Bolwells years ago? If that is right, what are/were they making?

Orion03 Posted 29April, 2014 Report Share Posted 29April, 2014 Excuse my ignorance but didn't they stop making Bolwells years ago? If that is right, what are/were they making? I was there a couple of years back for the "launch" of the new car. I got the chance to talk to him about the car and what he has been up to. Seems he has been making wind turbine blades out of fiberglass and making tons of $$ doing so.
Russ Posted 29April, 2014 Report Share Posted 29April, 2014 they make all sorts of stuff I thought, train components, caravans, wind turbine blades assuming this is the same company (I can assume so by the street location) - http://www.bolwell.com/
cyberpunky Posted 29April, 2014 Report Share Posted 29April, 2014 yes they have often made non car FG things too. They used to make FG play ground equipment, like you would see in local parks or Macca's.
