LeeM Posted 29May, 2016 Report Share Posted 29May, 2016 Not much in the way of Porsche's, yet it was a huge turnout today. Loads of interesting and varied cars. Datto's, Bellets, some serious Rotaries, American muscle carsThe RS replica stirred my loins! Very clean 928. Clean 996. Nice 356. Stew's 911 behind that. Early Vette, De Tomaso Pantera was a trailer queen that needed work. The Integrale is a recent import and extremely clean inside and out Caught up with Stew and Luke for a chat. Need to get some more PFA guys out at the next oneNever judge a book by it's cover! A friends Oval beetle. Eats V8's for breakfast! Very quick carOne for Uncle. Was told its a real one, though I wouldn't have a clue. Looks great without paint too. Whoever did the body prep did a helluva jobBelle of the ball for me this one. Can anyone confirm if it's a Lightweight? I'm aware that there is 2 in Adelaide
Stew F Posted 29May, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 29May, 2016 It was a huge turnout that caught the organiser by surprise. I chatted with the owner of that lapis blue 996.2. Nice bloke. And it's a really nice car. Met a couple of other Porsche owners, including the guy who owns the rs replica. And that old vette was something else. The sound from that thing was incredible. wirthO Posted 30May, 2016 Report Share Posted 30May, 2016 Went on my first Porsche Club meet on the same Sunday. Lovely drive up Greenhill Rd, through strath then into blackwood. I didn't get the chance to take many photos but here is one if my GT4 with a blue one behind it.
LeeM Posted 30May, 2016 Report Share Posted 30May, 2016 You'll have to post up when the Porsche club is doing a run mate.I'm not that into the club thing, but it would be nice to tag along on a drive one day
Shady Speedway Posted 31May, 2016 Report Share Posted 31May, 2016 I did a few club runs a while ago. There seemed to be the in crowd of regulars. Then all the new comers in the corner.I struck up a conversation with one of the in crowd but I seemed to vanish after his mate rocked up.Cars and Coffee gets a great mix of cars and a great mix of people...... and it won't cost me $130 a year to go along. spiller Posted 25June, 2016 Report Share Posted 25June, 2016 While I have my car out of storage for the weekend I've decided to go along for a look at this tomorrow morning. Will and PFA'ers be about? I've been told you need to be there by 7ish to get an actual park?

I don't need to be front and center but a park u the main drag would be nice as I heard some people had to park down the road last time?
Stew F Posted 25June, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 25June, 2016 I had to park out the back last time. If it's raining to much I think I'll take my Renault.

Maybe mate, though as a few people were saying last time, they were going to get there much earlier. Being as it will be brass monkey weather, that may keep a few away. I'll probably pass if it's raining though
spiller Posted 25June, 2016 Report Share Posted 25June, 2016 Yeah fair enough, if it's coming down I will pass too but none forecast (not that that's any indication for the hills!) so we shall see.
LeeM Posted 25June, 2016 Report Share Posted 25June, 2016 I should also mention that if you want a coffee, get there early too! There was a decent line up when I got there. I'm taking my own this time, though no cup holders in an SC
spiller Posted 26June, 2016 Report Share Posted 26June, 2016 It was ambitious of me to think I'd be able to climb out of bed early on Sunday morning with a newborn baby ?. Looks like the weather was OK? I'm sure Lee and Stew are still out lapping the hills!
LeeM Posted 26June, 2016 Report Share Posted 26June, 2016 I slept in till 7.30, got sorted and got up there for 8am. Not as many as last time, and most had left by 11amish. Weather was ok, just a bit nippy early on. Didn't go for a drive, as we both had to be elsewhere. Next time mateThis got my attention though! If I had the neccesary funds, this is exactly what I would do, just silver! This particular car is a 72 (built on my birthday!) that had been forward dated years ago to an SC with Turbo guards and many other SC bits. The current owner has replaced the bumpers etc, yet left it as you see here. 2.7 with carbs and MSD ignition and a Boxster muffler, huge 11 inch wheels with 295 x 50 x 15's etc. I absolutely LOVE this thing, especially the RSR type stance. It's a bitsa that is far from perfect, yet the owner has the great philosophy of ' Build it how YOU want and just drive it!' Anyone got some cheap Turbo guards and bumpers they wanna donate? ;-)
