Guest vas930 Posted 6July, 2012 Report Share Posted 6July, 2012 As the off porsche topic of the forum, I thought I would seek the wisdom of the forum. For some time now I have been a tad freaked out by this question. I have asked others with no clear answer. Here goes. If you removed your right eye from its socket and leaving the wires all hooked up. You then held it just in front of the left eye( 5 or 10mm) facing each other. Looking directly at each other. What yould you see ? How would the brain cope with this? Not sure how the hell I even thought about it, but it just wont go away. Any ideas? T-Man Posted 6July, 2012 Report Share Posted 6July, 2012 I don't have the answer to your question...........but I am starting to worry about you! There is a way you could simulate this with mirrors. Reflecting the image from one eye to the other using a couple of mirrors at 45 degrees to the eyes and each other. May need a convex type to magnify the images. I expect you to have an answer by Monday.

Guest vas930 Posted 6July, 2012 Report Share Posted 6July, 2012 Hey, thanks for all the kind words, gents. However, this does nothing to get this off my mind. I like the mirror idea, but not sure it would be the same as the the eye removal. Any eye/brain docs out there ? A quick test in your next surgery would be greatly appreciated. Dont make me try a 6000rpm launch in reverse. Anyone ?

myred911 Posted 13July, 2012 Report Share Posted 13July, 2012 Hi Vas, Can't tell 'cos I can't see that far. At every reflection the image just gets smaller until it disappears up yr a**e. OK here is another weird question. Compress and clamp a big coil spring. Dunk the clamped spring in acid, leave until the spring dissolves. Where has the energy used to compress the spring gone? This is getting ridiculous..
Guest vas930 Posted 13July, 2012 Report Share Posted 13July, 2012 " This is getting ridiculous" I see your point with the spring question. With quantum theory many questions come up that are hard to understand. Look at Schrödinger's cat, hard to understand but makes sense. This eye thing has me stumped. Cant see any way of finding out without a test (not doing test) I think I will leave it at that. Good reading, http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/Schrodingers-cat

Guest vas930 Posted 14July, 2012 Report Share Posted 14July, 2012 EYE UPDATE ! Seems after some more research, the wires to the eye cant stretch far enough to find out. This means both eyes will need to come out in order to face each other and get an answer. Not sure if this makes me feel any better. No ! Still thinking about it. And the mental image is far worse. Guest Nick987 Posted 31July, 2012 Report Share Posted 31July, 2012 Hey Vas, I'm pretty sure unless you are a T2000 model, you have an optic nerve instead of 'wires' and I am guessing that is what you are referring to. Also, simply cover one eye and go stare at the other in a mirror up close, that is pretty much what you would see. Then try with both eyes up close at the mirror. You will see an eyeball/s, albeit a very gory and bloody one/s, and probably drying out as it won't be able to blink any more, staring back. Your brain won't seize or short from the infinite loop...unless you are a T2000 model and aren't up to date with your service packs...
