I’ve not long been in the nations capital & i’m looking for a workshop to take my little front engine rocket to. (& the air cooled one)

Any recommendations from the locals?

Let me know when you find one...

chris @ in-line steering knows his P cars, but by all reports extremely busy and could be a long wait

PCC - Gulsons - dealer prices, not sure if they have any air cooled mechanics on deck, but like most porsche centres very busy with the modern after sales service.

I know of people who go to Sydney for their specialist work.

I take mine to my indie BMW/Merc guy, he usually farms out the work to specialists Ike carbs to one guy, suspension to another etc

good luck

Thanks tk i’ll look into those options.

The basic stuff I’ll try do myself but the main thing I’m after is some help tuning the 924. She’s running a bit rich.

I might just have to do a bit more research & have a go myself.

PS, I’m keen for a tour of some local twisty if you’re ever heading out.

I’m keen too mate, but I will have to lean on @micheland @Tit @Panzerjager @AC78 to show you around for now.

I am in Sydney for a serious chunk of this year dealing with a family medical issue. I keep looking out the Hospital windows for the Paddington Bear ( @turboT ), all I’ve spotted so far was new a red boxter in the car park.

It has been a struggle to find a specialist shop in Canberra, I guess we don’t quite have enough older Pcars for a specialist shop to be warranted. Good luck with the hunt @BJM

The mechanics behind CIS are relatively simple and there's not a great amount that can be tuned. On the fuel distributor there is a screw you removed, behind it there is an allen key. The allen key sets the AFR for the car. Does rely on having the idle set correctly which is achieved via the air bypass screw on the throttle body. The throttle position screw should only be used to set throttle position, not for revs.

I installed an air fuel ration meter (AFR) in my 924, especially handy if your car is a turbo. If adjusting these two points doesn't make your car run correctly, you can remove your CIS components (dizzy, WUR)  and have them overhauled by KJET in Queensland. They found a few interesting things with my components when I had them done.

Will be interested what you come up with. Also, anyone up for a drive on Sunday?

That might work.
