GC9911 Posted 1February, 2014 Report Share Posted 1February, 2014 I'M AN 11 YEAR OLD!!!! 4 and 3 were swapped. They popped off while I was fitting the air duct and I put them back in without really thinking. Guess what I'm doing in the morning Thank you Tazzieman. I guess in the morning you're apologising to your son (aka eating humble pie), geez I hate that, my sons make it last forever!

tazzieman Posted 2February, 2014 Report Share Posted 2February, 2014 See if you can't slyly swap the leads on a 930 and challenge the owner to a shootout . It's what an 11 year old would do.
9fan Posted 2February, 2014 Report Share Posted 2February, 2014 When you start showing your son some tricks, watch them like a hawk. My son let me drive his WRX in competition. "You go first he said" " Thanks" launched it then got to the curly bits "Shite" "Handles like a Dog" I said. "Must have forgotten to set suspension to sport mode" - My turn ! webrest Posted 2February, 2014 Report Share Posted 2February, 2014 Might look a bit naff but you can't go wrong. Works for me.you. You always get it mixed up when you are under pressure, this way a little bit of doubt is removed. Dymo tape holds up very well.
9++ Posted 17November, 2015 Report Share Posted 17November, 2015 Hi Harvs11, Just discovered a broken head stud on the weekend during major service / valve clearance work and will probably look to rebuild soon. Can you please share what special tools you purchased? Cheers,9++
Harvs11 Posted 17November, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 17November, 2015 Hi 9++,Bad luck there with your broken stud. Don't worry too much, it's not the end of the world. I only needed a few special tools for this job. Claw foot spanner for the cam nuts, adapter for the dial gauge when setting the cam timing, a 10mm hex key on a socket so I could torque the studs correctly and I borrowed some oil line spanners and an engine hoist mounting ring. It's often recommended to get a stud remover like the Snap-on Tools collet style, I just improvised and got the job done. For accuracy, I also bought a new W&B torque wrench. I used it for just about everything. You don't want to over tighten when screwing into alloy.Good luck and keep us updated.
