ByronBayChris Posted 9February, 2014 Report Share Posted 9February, 2014 The top of my wheel is quite cracked. What options do I have. 1) New (OEM) wheel 2) New aftermarket wheel (trying to work to a budget for the next few months) 3) Restoring the current wheel using a 3rd party Any other ideas ? Thanks Chris

Thanks Chris Don't buy a steering wheel and spend the money on "decision making lessons" Show us your crack (pun intended) also is your wheel leather? depending of the extent of the cracking it may be DIY repairable…
T-Man Posted 9February, 2014 Report Share Posted 9February, 2014 These guys great a great wrap on Rennlist, however Poland is a long way awayIf you were still in Melbourne the Blackmans may be a shot.http://leatherinteriors.carsdream.com/
Simonoz Posted 9February, 2014 Report Share Posted 9February, 2014 +1 for Blackmans. They have a guy who just does steering wheels. Also maybe try Carnewal in Belgium, Pelican Parts and Suncoast in the US
murf Posted 9February, 2014 Report Share Posted 9February, 2014 I've got the same issue - the batwing middle section of my wheel is broken. Looking at alternatives - they seem very costly which ever route I go!
Pauly Posted 9February, 2014 Report Share Posted 9February, 2014 I got mine done at blackmans too. From a daily driving point of view: The finish is great!! quality is pretty good.

Caledonian Posted 10February, 2014 Report Share Posted 10February, 2014 I recently got my seats "refurbished" and they re-dyed them due to some parts of the leather being very dry and cracked, came out very well. Looking at the condition your wheel (better than what my seats were), it should be able to be re-furbished to a good standard. Although I would get a referral from someone local so you know your dealing with an experienced trimmer.
withers Posted 10February, 2014 Report Share Posted 10February, 2014 Refurb it BBC. Aftermarket is bleurgh on a 993. Keep it original I say!
Peter M Posted 11February, 2014 Report Share Posted 11February, 2014 Thanks Amanda, you've expanded my vocab today! ( I admit I had to Google it.) And you're right, potential 993 owners rate highly on the anally retentive scale.
