sleazius Posted 2August, 2014 Report Share Posted 2August, 2014 Haven't they already announced that future boxsters and caymans are going to be 4 cylinders? Could of sworn I read that somewhere.

withers Posted 3August, 2014 Report Share Posted 3August, 2014 Yes they have sleazious but this sounds like they may be testing these engines now in current Caymans. I thought it was cool and might interest some here.
Caver Posted 4August, 2014 Report Share Posted 4August, 2014 It still sounds angry!!!
Harvs11 Posted 4August, 2014 Report Share Posted 4August, 2014 First impression for me was the same underwhelming sound that the current F1's wheeze out. Its a shame how turbos can kill any decent exhaust note.
withers Posted 4August, 2014 Report Share Posted 4August, 2014 i occasionally see a white 981 Boxster 2.7 driving through the CBD - I saw her yesterday and the noise it made as she slowly crept up Collins Street was intoxicating.. I thought about running up after her and ripping her out of the car (for a split second, I'm not a criminal)! Just a stunning machine! I don't think the new 4 will be like that
sleazius Posted 5August, 2014 Report Share Posted 5August, 2014 And yet a turbo on other cars can add to the excitement noise wise. This does seem a bit subdued.

sleazius Posted 7October, 2014 Report Share Posted 7October, 2014 The whole problem is if a Boxster starts at $51k in the US, there is almost no room below that for an entry level car. Here in Oz it'd make a lot of sense cause we get royally gouged, over there it'd mean no margin, and would probably steal sales from the Boxster. PeterP Posted 7October, 2014 Report Share Posted 7October, 2014 Great way to dilute a brand......just keep adding more and more models. Soon you'll be able to ge a porsche at You local Autobahn...!!!
OzJustin Posted 21October, 2014 Report Share Posted 21October, 2014 http://blog.caranddriver.com/porsches-sub-boxster-sports-car-is-d-e-d-dead/ That's a real shame if true. Here's to hoping the next Boxster is cheaper with a cracking turbo 4 pot...That or ditch the convertible and reinvent the 944/968 platform like we're all begging will happen.
