JB's blue beetle

Recommended Posts

Looking great JB. What's your expected due date on this baby?

Thanks Mike

Cage and seats will take 2 weeks, 2 days for the carpet and trim, not sure on the seat re trim, still waiting on stock of the pinstripe material.

Then I want to put in a Modena LSD, but the price of the thing and install is putting me off a bit.

Been a bit busy. We just had another little man 6 weeks ago. So the 911 has been relegated another rung down.

Anyways have had a wee bit of progress.

Carpet kit ready to go. From a mob in Sydney, well priced too.

Seats, harnesses and cage in. Seats are great, perfect size. Good compromise between track and daily use.

Rennline floor boards in, will look awesome once the carpet is in.

Had a Modena LSD put in as well, but for got to take photos before install.

Next up, off to the panel shop for the spoiler, rear valance and a few touch ups.

After that off to the trimmers to get the carpet put in. Not sure if will trim the seats just yet.

Will try and change over the steering wheel this weekend.

Almost done!

Updates updates.

Momo on

New wevo knob

Carpet in

wheels done, but should have done them properly. Would have been better to get them anodised.

Wing on

Tow hooks made

AO 50's onto the BBS

Took the car to the track couple of weeks ago. Was awesome so much more fun to drive than the EVO I had before. Much harder to go fast in. Will take a few goes to get the hang of it. Can brake so late in to the corners.

Had a bit of an issue with the car getting too hot and had to come in early every session.

I didn't want to alter the look of the car and keep it as sleeper as possible, but I need another oil cooler.

Normally one would stick another one on the passenger side fender. But I have 964 air con in my car so have a condenser in there, which I want to keep. So that leaves me with only one option. A centre mount cooler. After much internet window shopping, have ordered a Ruf front valance.  Will look like.

RUF valance is growing on me. I think it looks really good with the carrera spoiler.

Does anyone in Aus make fibreglass bumper blades?
