poli84 Posted 19June, 2015 Report Share Posted 19June, 2015 That is bloody cheap. Worth picking up for the tyres if they really are 80%.
9fan Posted 19June, 2015 Report Share Posted 19June, 2015 Observation - They are not Cup 1 but replicas, cheap spray can paint job, tyres may be 80 % but old and hard. I have same set available - not painted V Good condition, rims only - PM if interested.
ByronBayChris Posted 19June, 2015 Report Share Posted 19June, 2015 I'm here to learn. How can you tell the tyres are old and hard?
9fan Posted 19June, 2015 Report Share Posted 19June, 2015 Hi Chris, I am saying you need to check the date - Stamped DOT 4 digits, say 3207 - Manufactured 32nd week 2007. Rubber goes off after about 4-5 years depending on type, storage or use. Let me know what your cars come up with ? Cheers,Mark.
T-Man Posted 19June, 2015 Report Share Posted 19June, 2015 Just to note that they are advertised as 225 & 245 however actually 225 & 235. I'm also curious Mark as how you can tell they are old without seeing the date stamp?
Uncle Posted 19June, 2015 Report Share Posted 19June, 2015 You can zoom in on the 4th photo. Date stamp can be seen. P.S I don’t think they are that cheap.
9fan Posted 19June, 2015 Report Share Posted 19June, 2015 Theo - The word is MAY be ! Recently had a guy say tyres were 6 months old, not much wear but when I looked were dated 2004. I did get a nice set of rims though.
D-banger Posted 19June, 2015 Report Share Posted 19June, 2015 I'm here to learn. How can you tell the tyres are old and hard? http://www.barrystiretech.com/dotcoding.html The codes are only required on one wall, so if you cannot see them on one sidewall then check the other side.
