ByronBayChris Posted 27December, 2015 Report Share Posted 27December, 2015 Gus,If you've got $60k to spend, please don't buy a $60k car. At that price point, you will still need a few more $$ in corrective maintenance.

But cabs, despite once being more expensive than their coupe cousins definately struggle getting anywhere near the same prices now. I recon for $60k you could pick one up for sure, and as for being looked after, just get one with good records and get a ppi done. They probably get used a lot less than coupes (weather) so could be lower kms. Both these have been for sale for a while. If they bought this more than 12 months ago they probably only paid $45k.

Stew F Posted 27December, 2015 Report Share Posted 27December, 2015 My preference of the 2 - I'd go a targa over a cab. Tho I'm not buying it. I reckon targas look way cooler than cab's, and I also think you would tend to drive it more. If the one you look at has aircon make sure it works OK. I'd also steer clear of anything that's been butchered. Pre 83 cab's are not cab's. Unless they're 356's.

Coastr Posted 27December, 2015 Report Share Posted 27December, 2015 is this guy trying it on or is this what actual 70's targas are selling for now?well, given it's a US import and either LHD or converted then I would say 'trying it on'.I would guess market value in the mid 40s for that.
