I decided to switch to redline MT-90 on my car, (no LSD on my car though)... I'll let you know how that goes... a lot of of the 944 guys in the states swear by it and say it also works perfectly on cars with an LSD.

An important decision... hopefully someone else with more experience can make a suggestion

The Redline MT-90 gear oil is not recommended for manual transmissions with Hypoid Gears & the 944 / 944 Turbo / 968 / 911 (915) / 911 (G50 ) , 928 ( all )  etc etc all have Hypoid Gears

Redline states on their product sheet for the MT-90 } " Not suitable for Hypoid Gears "

The other issue is its( MT-90) a GL4 trans oil & the Porsche recommends for the above Porsche cars mentioned a GL5 transmission oil ( higher shear strength )

About 4 / 5 years ago ( here in Sydney ) another Porsche specialist informed us of Hypoid ( diff gears ) failures when using this oil on 911 915 transmissions ( very expensive ) , luckily for them its was the owners who installed this oil in their own Porsche's

Brands alone are not a real issue , the issue is it MUST be GL5 and its a 75w-90

I must admit we do get a lot of extra work from humans using the wrong oils in their last century Porsche's , be it engine or transmission  & its completely avoidable

I know this is an old thread but doesn't GL5 oil oil have more sulphur/phosphorus additives which are detrimental to copper and bronze components?
