MFX Posted 17December, 2016 Report Share Posted 17December, 2016 Hey guys,If anyone knows of some used titanium GT3 rods around that are still suitable to be remachined, I am in the market. MFX Posted 17December, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 17December, 2016 Any particular reason for used GT3 rods? http://arrowprecision.com/ - They'll make you what you need. specialises in titanium rods. We are still working out what we are doing with the engine and the machinists suggested used GT3 rods to save on costs. The machining side for me is no cost, so new custom rods won't work for my budget.
Peter M Posted 17December, 2016 Report Share Posted 17December, 2016 Just as a point of reference, Summit Racing sell a set of Carillo's for around $1700 USD. A set of API rod bolts for your old rods seem to be around $280 USD.
MFX Posted 18December, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 18December, 2016 Thanks Peter. That is still more than I am hoping I need to spend, I need new rod bolts and all of the other hardware anyway, just getting a cheaper old set of rods themselves will help things along. spiller Posted 18December, 2016 Report Share Posted 18December, 2016 I'd ring around some of the race shops (if you haven't already). Buiks here in Adelaide are a good bunch, as are PR Tech in your neck of the woods.
