1976 Turbo

Recommended Posts

so much more information needed to give you anything on your car unfortunately. Condition, originality, origin would be a start.

If it is a genuine matching numbers Australian delivered car in good condition with reasonable kms you have a rare car. Can't be many more than 100 original RHD cars made out of the total produced worldwide in that year (about 1200). The biggest sale for a 3.3 turbo in the last 6 months is $250k that I know of. A 3.0l should command more as it is a far rarer car.

In the US you see asking prices north of $200kUS and upto 300keuro in Europe, but these are for great example LHD cars and there are a few more of these around

In OZ generally speaking LHD will devalue the car by as much as 50% depending on the model. For a 3.0lT I wouldn't expect it to be as bad as 50%.

If it is no matching, converted etc etc - James has given you your answer

just realized the point of the question could have been about these two. Both wouldn't fall into the category of nice original cars and are asking way too much

I wonder how much ZAG charge for a full repaint?

Number 374 of 400 FIA homologation 930 built 10/75. Australian Delivered, matching numbers with COA will cost you $220k. Given it is RHD and a zinc plated body it may be the only one like it in existence?

PM me.

good luck with the sale. Not easy out there.

Question - isn't a build date 10/75 a 76 car? If so wouldn't be one of the precious 400 which I assume would be manufactured in 74/early 75?

Rhd 75 cars are rare. Magnus claims only 10 left..

Of the 400 Group 4 Homoligation cars. About 283 where 1975 models. The remaining 117 or so where 76 models. So every 75 car was part of the homologation and the first 120ish Euro spec 76 cars are part of the 400. The 400th car was produced in December 1975.

The actual 934 cars chassis numbers started at around #120 of the 1976 model.

The one common thing all homologation cars had was the 930/50 engine.

None of the 75 cars received zinc plating. That was introduced for the 76 model. So RHD zinc plated homoligation cars are extremely rare.

I have never seen the number of RHD homoligation cars quoted. They say 15 of the 75 cars received a steering wheel on the right. Extrapolated out.... there might be 10 or so 76 RHD cars  between 1976 #001 and 1976 #117.

Mine is 1976 #091. Australian delivered built 10/75.

From memory? Australia received 6 X 1975 cars. 14 X 1976 cars and 21 X 1977 cars. What is not known is how many of the Australian 1976 cars wear a chassis number below #117.

There can't be many more than 7 of the 400 in Australia. How many are still recognizable and matching numbers? Not sure I will ever know?

Obviously I could go on for hours..........

There is a book on 3.0Lt 930s that has just been released it's about $500 but I will no doubt be able to shed more light on these numbers soon.

There is also an 3.0Lt 930 register that shows the distribution of some of the cars but not all.

I have the FIA Group 4 Homologation paper work for 930s if anybody is interested.

good luck with the sale. Not easy out there.

It's for sale but not bothered if I have to drive it for the next 20 years.

I wonder if Bootsy was Butzi's little known tearaway daughter who went on to gain notoriety in various burlesque shows highlighting the designs of her father that didn't make it to production?

Only euro spec are homos.

Do you know your build date Tom? Might be 75? You would have a 930/52 engine. I'd gather if there was any info for the car. Magnus would have dredged it up?

not sure if 75's were officially brought into the US. He does have another one aswell as the Aussi car, but not sure of its history. As chassis 28 he said mine was the 19th turbo to enter the US. He wasn't much of a document kind of guy, but I did get one of these
