Recommended Posts

FYI ….news emerging re 992 gt3 gearbox and total failure.

992 gt3 pdk of a mates has failed and turns out it’s not at all a one off…starts with you lose 2nd, then reverse then 4th and 6th.  Hearing a full gearbox needed.

Now seeing manual also got issue check it out on rennlist.

disappointing if proves an issue that’s reoccurring.

Another issue which is plaguing 992 GT3s which may, or may not, be related is the reluctance of the PDK box to engage 1st when cold. When you start the car and engage drive and then give it some revs, the car just sits there. Doesn't matter how many revs you give it, the clutch will not engage. After about 30-60secs, the clutch will engage and you can move off...but even then, the clutch continues to slip a bit until it gets warmer. When you are in a hurry, 30-60secs can feel like a lifetime. It's most annoying. Its booked in for a check up.

$29k for no difference than any other car they paint. Porsche = licence to print money.

Sorry to hear that. It’s frustrating that for the past couple of cars the first gen has had issues.

Yep PTS isvery clever margin growth - having said that the tour guide did say that a unique colour means various suppliers also need to paint their bits in the unique colour such that they all come together in Porsche factory and match perfectly.  I’m sure it takes a bit of effort and coordination but probably $28k profit 😂
