GT3MEZ Posted 27October, 2023 Report Share Posted 27October, 2023 Love the car, but am 100% over the whole solo drift on track thing as a representation of what any vehicle short of an actual drift car would be used for. Can't drive like that one the road, and can't drive like that on the track unless you own it for the day. tomo

Yes it's a bit much, But they are pro's and on a track, If was all driving Miss Daisy no one would give it a secound look, But 10500 RPM, What an engine 😉 GT3MEZ
LeeM Posted 27October, 2023 Report Share Posted 27October, 2023 For Richard Tuthill who is a decent rally driver, I thought that was pretty average driving when I watched the YouTube video of it. Can you imagine the mess that 10,500rpm will make if it detonates? P-Kay and tomo

sleazius Posted 27October, 2023 Report Share Posted 27October, 2023 Chris Harris has spent his life perfecting long artful drifts (spoiler, it isn't easy) - if you listen to the collecting addicts podcast there a few passing comments where he talks about drifting and Chris Cooper who is a accomplished driver ribs him because of how easy he makes it look, the retort being that it took him 25 years of practice to get to that point. 99.9% of drivers look decidedly average when it comes to drifting compared to Chris Harris (Tuthill is no exception). Like it or not, its almost part of his brand at this point, and the average punter eats it up.

Yeah we know all that what is being said is for two top notch drivers it looks a bit out control if you get my drift 😀 P-Kay

hugh Posted 28October, 2023 Report Share Posted 28October, 2023 The most genuine vid of 2 car guys ringing the neck of a serious early 911. They aren’t drifting for a camera, they are doing it because it’s fun. It’s as good as it gets. Harris is a reasonably good amateur track racer. Tuthill is a very well accomplished gravel rally veteran - not an easy feat in early 911’s. This is how a sports car should be enjoyed. The fact that not many people have the skill or balls doesn’t mean that it should cease to exist. Go buy a Camry.
