hugh Posted 19March, 2014 Report Share Posted 19March, 2014 Sounds like the car will now be sold by a dealer, so wherever you buy best to get a PPI!

sleazius Posted 19March, 2014 Report Share Posted 19March, 2014 Old people are funny. I can just imagine my father-in-law doing something like this and thinking it wasn't an issue to just 'weld it up himself'.
Pauly Posted 19March, 2014 Report Share Posted 19March, 2014 Hang on a sec... Lower control arms are aluminium aren't they? Aluminium takes some skill to weld... You cannot use an ark (stick) welder. You'd need a mig with an aluminium spool or a TIG
J.J. Posted 19March, 2014 Report Share Posted 19March, 2014 if the undercarriage and control arms were all screwed up wouldnt it be obvious just driving the car something was wrong??
Russ Posted 19March, 2014 Report Share Posted 19March, 2014 "went up on some rocks" and broke all the control arms and damaged the underbody.. I think someone's being economical with the truth in their description!
Airhead Posted 19March, 2014 Report Share Posted 19March, 2014 Fancy wasting good alum welding on it. I would have used race tape.

JustJames Posted 20March, 2014 Report Share Posted 20March, 2014 Race tape is like the Force - it has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.
