I notice that there are two lift heights: 1400 mm =56" and 1200mm= 48" Those extra inches would be handy   B)

The first post in this thread has information on the units I'm looking at. The Happ units are totally unrelated that someone else has linked to (which I assume relate to the different lift heights?)

How is the Hoist pricing going Russ any were near a price yet ?

as yet for pricing I'm waiting on more people to show an interest so I've got an 'group' to buy with. Are you planning on freighting yours ex Brisbane?

Gents

To kick along the group buy EOI, I have cross posted this thread over on typ901.

Not meaning to complicate, just think the more interests shown the more that get converted to committed.

Russ you think it useful if the thread is cross posted on a couple of other forums ? All about the numbers and in the case of prev posts inches...

couple of interested gents over on typ901

for those still thinking scissor lift. just a heads up ive got a mate in NSW who imports panel beating equipment and is heading off to a china trade show in 3 weeks - he will have all the detail specs on return.

He does have gear in country but it is higher spec- cost italian made gear. 4k + for a mid rise lift

Ive asked him to look at mid and high rise scissor lift and  single phase 2 post hoists. He will also look into eastern seaboard freight incl Adleaide.

Gents the deal is still humming along and had a brief exchange with Russ on this the other day.

Hugh who imports specialist gear for the panel trade should have info for us next week.

Okay, so i'm back onto this and i've been in discussions with HAPP based in QLD. For the HAPP10 which is the below, we're looking at $1900inc GST each for the purchase of 6-8 units. These would need to be collected from Ormeau. More details here - http://happ.com.au/hoist_and_lift/happ10-scissors-hoist-autolift/

Is there still interest in this? For the difference in importing ourselves from China I think we're only going to save $200-$400 at best (and there's the nightmare of freight from China, as well as any australian 'compliance' that they WOULDN'T have.

Can get a 2 post molnar (or similar) for around $1000 though, so we're really paying extra for portability and space conerns

I'm also back to looking after this by myself (but thanks Michael for your help so far) so won't be entertaining any other options as it's too much of a hassle to organise 'other' lifts and defeats the purpose of a group buy.

The lift looks perfect for my garage. The trouble is how often will I need it, its hard to justify the expense , yet when you want to work on the car there is nothing better at the price. Ideally one would share one with a few like minded people but thats complicated too.

I like the idea of a communal work shop, everything you need to fix your car your self. I have even considered setting up a pay as you go shop, there does not seem to be anything in Aus that I know of. Any ideas out there ?

No to steal Russ's thunder - though if freight is a killer for parties sydney and further south I've got pricing for scissor and 2 post hoists and can do a group buy if there is interest

I do not think it is very competitive for a group buy When Ebay can supply basicly the same hoist with a1350 lift height (100mm higher) for $1890 with these tranz port costs out of Melb

Shipping:
Prefer local pick up, while, we can arrange the transportation at your cost. We cooperate with several transportation company, can offer you very competitive rate.

Darwin Metro Depot AUD360
Brisbane Metro Depot AUD225
Sydney Metro Depot AUD160
Adelaide Metro Depot AUD156
Perth Metro Depot AUD295
Hobart Depot AUD450

Just sayin

How many confirmed do you have at this stage Russ?

just the people in the first post so far, but i haven't put much effort into promoting it

I will do with C&C shortly so it should get the numbers up

So when I include shipping to Brisbane it comes to $2115. Whereas the HAPP units I can collect locally and the warranty would be local too. (which is of benefit to everyone locally here who's buying one)

I guess the group buy i'm consdering would only be worthwhile to Brisbane/SEQ people who can organise their own transport - Otherwise cost would be prohibitive in moving them around intially, and if there ever was a warranty issue.

title updated to reflect

Yeah well Mate seeing I am not local , I will get my own , what a load of b/s

would you like a tissue? no where did I mention that you HAD to be involved, and I did mention a few times that freight costs would probably negate any savings

let me know when you're trying to organise something (that was from the start an 'expression of interest' so I could see who would be interested) and I'll come in and whinge in your thread

Maybe you and Michael could do something for people down south?
