michel Posted 25September, 2015 Report Share Posted 25September, 2015 yes there are solutions form cut it carefully open fix it then have it welded shut to using a new repro though some people complain about the vinyl not been an exact match and they are LHD so the vanity mirror is positioned for the driver to better practice their Porsche design smoulder
James P Posted 25September, 2015 Report Share Posted 25September, 2015 Best to buy 993 visors... they work perfect on my SC, just check if you need them from a LHD or RHD car
tazzieman Posted 25September, 2015 Report Share Posted 25September, 2015 There is a company in the USA that refurbs them, but given postage etc , you're better off getting new old ones. I've tried the DIY fixes and they are not great, So I just watched ebay until I got what I needed. Nothing worse than puffy visors , except maybe torn and saggy seats. AC78 Posted 25September, 2015 Report Share Posted 25September, 2015 Remember when I first got my car in naive attempt to fix puffy visors I left them under stack of phone books for a week. Think they probably twice as puffy now!
eoghanroe Posted 26September, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 26September, 2015 Thanks for the advice all. Think I might know of a 911 being broken for parts back in Ireland. I'll make a few calls and see what can be salvaged from it. Heading back for Christmas so can throw it in the suitcase then. Are the sun visors the same across coupe, cab and targa? eoghanroe Posted 19October, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 19October, 2015 So, the plastic pivot on the offending sun visor snapped on me this morning. Any suggestions where I'd pick one up handy/cheap? I'm sure some strong adhesive would probably fix it for all the use it gets.
