So for the second year running we headed off to the Cote D'Azur and Monaco for the F1 GP. We were super excited knowing that Ricciardo would put in a good showing and the sheer spectacle that is Monte Carlo has to be experienced once in your life. We had another wonderful weekend and I thought I'd share some pictures for those who are interested. I took a lot of photos but these are just a small sample of the fun we had...

Arriving at our suite above the main straight and pit lane

Great images mate thanks for posting ,,,,,,,,,Monaco is on my bucket list :)

You have to do it once! Monaco is like a tiny parallel universe where everything is perfect and everybody is living the dream. To see it at least once is very special. Was hoping for a slightly different result to the race, but you can't have it all!

planning a trip to Europe 2018.  Plan is to hit Euro Cucina in Milan (get the work part done first) in April then a bit of touring around including Lake Como, west coast of Italy, pop over to Belgium for an RSR track day at SPA (hmm, GT4 or 991 GT3RS or perhaps a track prepped 996 GT3 to keep it realhttp://www.rsrspa.com/car-rentals/porsche-gt3-996  ) then back to Monaco for the Grand Prix in May.  Any tips on Monaco - where to stay and where to watch the race would be appreciated.  Expecting eye watering room rates and assume I'll need to book well ahead to even get near the place .

Yep, that sounds like a nice trip. A few tips on the Monaco GP.

1. Nobody stays in Monaco, unless you own your own airline or are very handy with a soccer ball. Most people stay in Nice (25 mins by train) or in Menton (same distance in the opposite direction). There also other smaller towns along that trainline. We had a really nice room in Nice for 180Euro a night.

2. Get a package and watch the Monaco GP from a suite. General Admission and the stands are OK, but for most people Monaco is a 'once in a lifetime' deal and it pays to do it in style. The suite we had this year (Saturday and Sunday) had no more than 30 people in it, was huge with a great balcony and had the best view you could ask for. It's fully catered with chefs, bar staff and the food and drinks flow all day. (Our waiter was bringing me a fresh beer before I could empty the previous one all day). This year we went with Rocket Hospitality and they were absolutely fabulous www.rockethospitality.com. Last year we used Step-by-Step and they were also great. There are a few more online also.

3. Book your flights at least 6 months in advance. There are only so many flights into Nice on the previous days and they book out fast. The prices also escalate quickly when race time starts to draw near.

4. Don't drive there. Monaco (and the whole Cote D'Azur) becomes gridlocked in Summer (June-July-Aug) and is even worse on GP weekend. It can take hours to drive really short distances. Also, once you get to Monaco, space is insanely limited and parking costs an arm and a leg. Just fly and train it, that way, if you have too many brewski's (and you will) there is no need to worry about driving anywhere.

5. The more the merrier. Get as many people to go as you can. Most of the hospitality companies will offer good discounts for larger numbers making the whole thing more affordable and also more fun. PFA excursion anyone?

6. Don't bother going into the Casino. It's totally overrated and very toffie. The dress code is also tighter than a fishes ring. Just stay outside and watch all the supercars do their thing in Casino Square. Or get a table at Cafe De Paris and watch the fun from there over a coldie!

7. Just go. You will have one of the best experiences of your life.

^^ brilliant, thanks.  Saves me wasting my time trying to find somewhere to stay in Monaco and expecting to drive in and park at the kerb out front......

i remember going there in early 2000s (not GP time) and hanging around the casino watching the surreal collection of people and cars.

I went in 1998 on somewhat of a lads trip.  We had general admission and it sucked, to be frank.  We ended up climbing down the cliff from underneath the castle and watching the race from a ledge.  We stayed in Toulon which is a rougher version of nice.  Unbeknownst to me another friend was also there and picked up some tickets to an apartment like the one shown here, fully catered.  His experience of the same race was much better, but really, it's not all about the race.

however the atmosphere and sights and sounds in general were awesome and it remains for many reasons one of the top weekends of my life, and some random people thrown together for a beery trip to a f1 race ended up friends for life.
