Boxster 2.5 or 2.7 motor wanted

Friend has puchased 986 with blown motor.  Anyone here have a good 2.5 or easily substituted motor in good going order?

I dont know but, in OZ, do Audi V8s cost anything? Or are they just as expensive as Boxster motors??

Sorry Adam, meant to reply.  Big end cap poking out of engine, suspect non-repairable......  he has acquired a 2.5 to go in, just working on transferring ancillaries etc at the moment, now needs a flywheel as the one on the old motor appears to be shagged...
