ByronBayChris Posted 10March, 2014 Report Share Posted 10March, 2014 I am considering getting something like this to increase my parking space. What would be the impact of a 993 being stored on a slight incline for a few weeks at a time.? Any issues with oil settling to the from for back of the engine etc ? Would be similar to parking the car on a slight hill for a period. Pauly Posted 10March, 2014 Report Share Posted 10March, 2014 That's not much of an incline. You should be fine IMO. You'll get less oil movement from that then accelerating!
Russ Posted 10March, 2014 Report Share Posted 10March, 2014 That's not much of an incline. You should be fine IMO. You'll get less oil movement from that then accelerating! yeah but the oil is pressurised when you're driving/accelerating I think you'll be fine, just the same as parking on a hill all the time (and i'm sure there are people with sloped driveways that do it)

So little difference? The system is pressurised in the engine itself. But in the sump ect where the oil sits. is just sitting there. But that slope should be fine. If it was a huge slope. I wouldn't do it.
Airhead Posted 11March, 2014 Report Share Posted 11March, 2014 Oil leaks onto the car underneath is the biggest issue. But as Jocaro has just done you motor there wont be any oil leaks will there.

SteveT Posted 11March, 2014 Report Share Posted 11March, 2014 What about a proper 2 post hoist? Then you can do stuff under the car as well. Have a look at tufflift.com.au they have a range of stuff cheaper than the one you looked at on eBay.
T-Man Posted 11March, 2014 Report Share Posted 11March, 2014 You will need to alternate ends on a weekly basis, otherwise the gravity effect sensors will need to be re-calibrated.
StevepGT3 Posted 11March, 2014 Report Share Posted 11March, 2014 If it`s the porsche going up there it won`t matter one little bit being a dry sump, but even with a wet sump the oil would level out pretty well instantly anyway
