Dusty Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 The inner sceptic in me always takes over when an advert begins with a good dose of name-dropping. Is it just me?
Harvs11 Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 The inner sceptic in me always takes over when an advert begins with a good dose of name-dropping. Is it just me? You're not alone there. How would you verify the accuracy of the spiel? ring, ring..."Hi there Mr Sultan. Did you used to have a blue 911?" Dusty Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 "Why yes citizen pleb, I did. Shuey and I loved that car until we gave it to Berlusconi for a weekend. Played up like an unregistered dog after that..."
Caledonian Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 Believable ...some of it possibly. I worked in the middle east for some years and the gifting of cars to loyal employees ,while not common place had been known to occur. Unfortunaly not to me
turboT Posted 17February, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 Cynics the lot of you! Can't believe you've never been given a Porsche before. I mean who could ever make that shit up?
Harvs11 Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 Cynicism aside, it's still a very nice car. In case you missed it, free Porsches do happen.
firstone Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 I'm sure I saw a movie recently that had a 'Prince Jefi' character in it. hehehe
turboT Posted 17February, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 I wish the prince had bought the 3.6 and had slightly better taste in colours.
Dusty Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 Agree Turbo - jokes aside, that car is on my dream list. Albeit in a different colour.

tazzieman Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 The prince's name is Jefri not Jefi as stated , though car dealers are pretty loose with their ads. Ol Jef is a bit of a lad
Coastr Posted 17February, 2015 Report Share Posted 17February, 2015 I have also read of other accounts of cars being gifted to employees, doctors, lawyers and the like - particularly if the employee was discrete about matters involving members of a royal family. The Brunei car collection is in a sorry state these days - I have read stories that they lost of lot of cash and just left tons of cars to rot. Some of them are being exported via auction but only the rare and special ones. http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2011/03/the-sultan-of-bruneis-rotting-supercar-collection/ The Schumacher bit is impossible to verify - he may have driven it once - but who could say. Harvs11 Posted 18February, 2015 Report Share Posted 18February, 2015 I wonder if this is the seller.. "I was picked up at the hotel by an ex-New Zealand special forces (SAS) officer working as professional mercenary/bodyguard for the Royal Family’s security detail." This particular Turbo is in pretty rare company. "Over the last eight years less than a dozen significant cars have left, most as gifts to well-connected ex-pats." ByronBayChris Posted 18February, 2015 Report Share Posted 18February, 2015 Nah, just an idiot He sure is. I'm amazed at some of the reading (true or not) regarding him. And he is 57 years old..... Still not grown up. This might be my last post before the Sultan comes knocking. It's been good
